Magazine Covers
dual-character editorial covers — anime meets fashion
00

I've always existed between two worlds—anime and fashion. Two industries that take aesthetics more seriously than almost anything else but almost never talk to each other.
This project was a simple question: what happens when they do?

THE IDEA
Fashion magazines have a visual language so established it's almost a genre of its own. The masthead. The cover lines. The barcode. The grid. Strip away the photography and replace it with illustration—does it still feel like a magazine? Does it feel real?
That was the constraint I set myself. Every decision had to hold up against an actual published cover. Not a poster pretending to be a magazine. A magazine.
THE RESULT
Two covers that feel like they could sit on a newsstand between Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. Built entirely in Photoshop, from illustration to final print mockup.
Not a concept. A series.
