pinkish haze visions
A sketch that already knew what it wanted to be. Soft pink, open sky, a face dissolving into clouds.

THE STORY
It started as a sketch. No brief, no concept document, no mood board. Just a face emerging from clouds, drawn the way you draw when you're not thinking too hard about it.
Most sketches stay sketches. This one kept asking for more.

THE IDEA
The sketch already had the mood—soft, suspended, somewhere between dreaming and waking. The job wasn't to redesign it. It was to honor it.
Purple was never a question. The whole feeling of the piece lived in that color—cool enough to feel melancholic, warm enough to feel safe. The clouds aren't a background. They're the environment. The figure isn't in a scene. She is the scene.
THE PROCESS
Taken into Illustrator and built back up from the original lines. Working in Illustrator meant every edge had to be a decision — no happy accidents, no loose brush strokes. The softness you see is constructed. The clouds, the gradients, the way the face dissolves into the haze at the edges — all deliberate.
That constraint ended up being the point. Something that feels this loose and atmospheric shouldn't look this considered. The tension between the two is what makes it work.
THE RESULT
A finished illustration that still feels like a sketch — immediate, personal, unguarded. The kind of piece that reminds you why you started drawing in the first place.
